Inkjet Technical Support
Our ink chemists and engineers at Kao Collins enjoy helping customers choose industrial inkjet inks for high-quality digital printing results. In addition to our portfolio of standard inks, we develop custom inks with unique specifications for difficult printing applications. Our customers drive our innovations.
Choosing the Correct Inkjet Ink
Determining the best ink for digital printing requires more than matching one or more possible inks to your substrate. Our chemists look at the entire lifecycle of the product, from the supply chain to the end-user. We understand these influences before choosing inks for testing.
- What is the substrate to be printed?
- What inkjet technology is being used: TIJ, PIJ, CIJ?
- What finishing work is required after printing?
- Where or how will the print be used?
Use Ink Answers to identify inks compatible with your substrate.

Testing and Validating Results
We work collaboratively with you to determine how different inks perform for your application. Products needing high durability for demanding environments may require an ink solution far different from an inkjet ink needed for a single-use or limited-use product.
Our lab performs industry-standard testing to determine inkjet ink performance, including:
- Tape adhesion testing,
- Abrasion testing
- Scratch-testing to identify delamination
- Cracking or splitting of ink testing
Problem Solving
For various reasons, an inkjet ink that once worked flawlessly may no longer pass quality checks. That wastes time and money. We’ll partner with you to understand changes impacting production. We can perform surface tension testing for inks and substrates, and evaluate for surface contamination and substrate mismatch from manufacturing changes.
Production Assistance
Whether you need troubleshooting, instructions, software settings, firing parameters, service, or help diagnosing a more complex issue, we are ready to help with expert solutions.
